The client had an existing archway and wanted to create a turn of the century look with an arched doorway.
I designed the woodwork based on the clients wishes, the materials selected were black walnut and antique glass and the hardware selected was also to reflect the period.
There is feeling of grandeur and timelessness when entering this doorway.


North Gower Study

Custom Doors and Cabinetry

The Door was commissioned by the City of Ottawa
The challenge was replicating the woodworking standards of the 1870's
Made entirely of mortise and tenon, and hard wood wedges, to comply with 
The Heritage Committee standards of Ottawa
No glue, screws or nails were used in this door

The platform bed was commissioned by a client in Ottawa
Made entirely of red oak, including the 110 year old slab headboard
I carefully hand picked the slab and epoxied with an eco epoxy made in 
Canada. The 4 drawers , 2 on each side, under the bed, make use of valuable storage space are made of western red cedar, giving an aromatic sent to linen and clothes.
 The U shaped night stands allow the bottom drawers to open seamlessly


The Custom western red cedar deck and sheds were also commissioned by a client to revamp a worn out porch. The 2 storey brick duplex was built in the 1960's.
Designing a modern style of timber frame look as well as the custom sheds were a pleasure . Adding the horizontal louvers to the bottom side wall brought 
some relief from direct sunlight, but allowed for light to come in

Custom Kitchen Cabinetry

Client received a new gas stove, eliminating the existing 5.5 inch pull out on either side of the stove.
New custom built pull outs were made with a 2 5/8 th. total clearance , allowing for baking sheets or chopping boards to be stored on either side.
New doors were also custom built and stained to match and installed for other areas of the kitchen.

Custom Kitchen Retrofits

The client requested a custom built U shaped benches to create both seating and storage
The dimensions were made extra deep to allow for upholstered cushions and bolsters.
They will add seating and allow for lounging or sleeping .
The custom shoe rack bench also awaits a custom upholstery.

Kitchen reno- Harkness

The existing kitchen was to dark and rigid for the client including the hardware
We remedied this by repainting all the cabinetry and changing the hardware

The 1965 kitchen had seen better days.
Using an Ikea based kitchen , including doors, custom cabinets were built to create the end cabinets and maximize the storage space as well as the minimize the footprint 
Custom lift up doors were also created to maximize storage above the stove and fridge.
A new stone countertop and backsplash as well as in cabinet lighting were also added.


A heritage tree came down in a wind storm.
Reclaimed part of the tree to transform into an heirloom 

Live edge epoxy slabs

The objective was to frame in a niche for custom built ins, Hale Navy blue with remote LED lighting, as well as refinish the cabinetry in a lighter tone.
The above head lift up panel conceals the wireless electrical components and provides added storage.
The existing kitchen was dark and and lacked warmth.
The fireplace area was somewhat of a wasted space
The master bedroom received a 12 ft wide x 17 inches deep custom built in including armoires, drawers, TV and media niche as well as a tilt out laundry hamper with 2 wire baskets and laundry bags for quick and efficient sorting.
The custom built office/ library 15ft xx 10ft tall was designed to have a central desk
office drawers, including file drawers and ample space for a very large book collection.
Finished flush to the ceiling and painted the same color as the walls, it blends into the room, being large without being foreboding.

Busy new dental clinic in need of a functional and stylish storage area. 10 ft high celling, heavy duty adjustable shelving provided as well as custom 9 ft x 36 " modern door

I was to design and build a 20 x 20 cedar deck for the clients 
They enjoy entertaining and large family gatherings.
The design encompasses a privacy fence
a storage cabinet and a bar area with an arched arbor.


Shadow Hill Cres.

Heritage home with eight pillars supporting the veranda roof .2 of the bases in need of repair due to rot and insect damage
recreating the collars to exact dimensions and profile was the key here, in replicating this century old woodwork.
Jacking and supporting the roof to make the the repairs was also needed..
restoration was completed and a success.

This Heritage home needed restoration
including new facias, eavethrough, downspouts, architectural millwork, painting,.custom aluminum capping.
The client and I consulted and an antique Brown was selected for all of the above elements.
Keeping the distinguished heritage details and improving it's durability for the coming years was achieved  


461 Laurier Ave.East

The client bought a turn of the century home. Now retired but having been in the arts for most of her life, wanted something unique created for her vanity.
I suggested to create a live edge top with inlaid Swarovski crystals and amethyst chips Into a clear epoxy .



Custom eclectic vanity makeover

A mixture of granite, glass, ship lap, maple live edge epoxy countertop.
Black walnut featured through out in floating shelves, bench top , mirror and baseboard.
dimensions are approximately 8 X 8



Mooney's Bay Bathroom

The existing entrance was crumbling and unsafe.
The client requested a ramp for accessibility and new railings.
One of the issues was snow and ice building up and damage from salt.
Therefore, I suggested we incorporate an electric  heated wire into the slab that works with a sensor.
The snow and ice now melt of almost immediately and salt is no longer required.
